Il Casaro Pizzeria & Mozzarella Bar which opened it's first location in San Francisco’s historic Italian district of North Beach in March of 2014 , Opened it's second location San Francisco’s lively Castro District June of 2019 , has redefined quality pizza for the neighborhood. Our philosophy stems from a simple Italian reality that pizza should always be affordable and accessible for everybody and anybody.
Our perfect Napolitan style pizza recipe consists of caputo flour imported from Naples and San Marzano tomatoes with D.O.P certification (protected designation of origin). This special kind of D.O.P tomato can only be found in 41 Italian municipalities in the province of Naples, and we wouldn’t dream of having our sauce prepared with any other sort. For our final, yet crucial step, we melt these prized flavors in our very special and beautiful wood burning oven, which was also specially imported from Naples and gives our pizza that smoky hint most others lack. The result; a crispy, delicate and thin crust with a 12'' inch pie that your teeth will simply sink into.
Il Casaro, meaning the cheese maker in Italian sheds light on the way we compliment all our styles of pizza with our mozzarella bar, which includes mozzarella di bufala, fior di latte mozzarella and our most popular being the burrata, all specially imported from Italy. If our food didn’t speak for itself our atmosphere and employees do.
We accompany our pizza philosophy with a casual and rustic environment, great jams, happy employees and a beautiful, lit up space with our treasured red oven as the crown jewel in the center. We hope you’ll enjoy our pizza as much as we enjoy making it!
